Seriously, what’s Pretty?
The question with a million answers but still no answer. For me, pretty is subjective and abstract in nature. It’s a look, a feeling, and a mood. It’s based on the eye of the viewer. Also, it’s something we’re all born with! For some; being pretty or feeling pretty is therapy.
Pretty is not the white washed images in magazines, the IG account with a million followers, or the less than diverse movies we’ve been accustomed to watching in Hollywood. Pretty is who and what we make it.
And, who is “The Pretty Woman”?
We all know her! She walks in the room with confidence and she own’s it. You can’t help but notice and acknowledge her. She’s the woman that isn’t define by her makeup or an expensive beauty routine; chances are she probably keeps it simple. She own’s her pretty in how she carries herself. Sometimes she has on zero makeup and you cant help but say…”oh she’s pretty”. We tend to sit back and wonder what about her makes her so pretty.
Let me just say. Pretty is about creating your own idea of what’s beautiful to you and creating a routine that works for you. You can’t be someone else’s version of pretty. You’ve got to find your own way and to help; I’ve created the “The Pretty Woman” series to share some of my favorite beauty tips and techniques for you to learn and master your own pretty.

For starters, here’s a couple tips to make the best use of this series and set your foundation for building your own beauty routine.
Keep it Simple
Beauty is simple; and the truth is you don’t need as much makeup as you think to look pretty. Furthermore, no amount of makeup can take away from the natural beauty you already have. I’m not saying throw out your makeup sis; because I’m damn sure not throwing out mine. I’m just saying find a balance between your own natural beauty and makeup that works for you.
With all the new beauty brands and products, you can get lost and find yourself with a counter full of “beauty clutter” as I like to call it. Heck most of us women are balancing family, careers, a social life, and nine hundred other projects while still trying to maintain an unnecessary over the top beauty routine. Seriously, I’ve met and spoken with women who say they can’t leave the house without a full beat face. I’m not judging these women, but this woman here is not slaying a face in 10 mins to run to the grocery store. I’m also sure that there are a lot of women like myself who can’t afford to spend an hour on makeup every morning or do a full face just to leave the house for a few minutes.
Our busy lives have left us with no choice but to keep it simple. I personally have a very relaxed beauty routine during the week and keep it SUPER simple as I don’t like to put too much pressure on myself to try and look pretty. I’ve learned to leave the glam for the weekends when I have a little more time on my hand. By keeping it simple and using just a few of the tips in this beauty series I look and feel pretty in less than 10 mins. I’m hoping it does the same for you. Remember……
Simplicity is the Ultimate Form of Sophistication and Beauty

Thanks for reading Brittany! Yes true beauty starts with you ❤️
I loved that one of your main tips was to keep it simple. Sometimes we forget that simplicity is best, because as you stated it’s what allows us to show our born given beauty. Thanks for sharing!🤗
